Juicy green and idyllic with breathtaking views:
Nordic Walking in the Hotel Alpina in Serfaus / Tyrol!
In Serfaus people prefer to walk with sticks. No less than 21 kilometres of marked Nordic Walking routes at all difficulty levels are available for the guests at the Hotel Alpina. That is 121 kilometres of pure enjoyment that are oriented towards the ski slope levels: blue, red and black for flat, moderate and steep tracks. The shortest of the 19 routes are 2.7 kilometres long and blue, the longest routes are 9.3 kilometres and black. Very black, high and steep. All tracks start off at one of the villages up on the sunny plains and lead into the mountains – softly ascending or steep enough to get you sweating.
Professional Nordic walking guides teach our guests twice a week the art of coordination between feet and sticks. It is not difficult – but you shouldn’t even start to think because the motion that you need for Nordic Walking is a completely natural one. The arms swing in the opposite direction to the steps – this is a movement that everyone does automatically as soon as they put one foot in front of the other. Then you only have to keep the stick at a diagonal line to the ground and push yourself off from the ground. There are introductions to the “art” of Nordic walking in Serfaus from May to October, or all year round in Fiss and Ladis.
Nordic walking is training for the whole body and improves physical fitness and stamina. The Alpine walking, which was discovered by the Scandinavian winter sport fans, trains 90 percent of all muscles. Because the cross country skiers and biathlon fans cannot train on skis in summer, they simulate with sticks the movements which are so important for them in the winter. Not only muscles are trained but also power, mobility and coordination.
By the way: Your hostess in the Hotel Alpina in Serfaus is also a keen Nordic walker and accompanies the guests with her carbon sticks out into the countryside whenever she gets the time.
